How to Fight Spam on Your WordPress Blog with One Plugin

How many times, you login to your wordpress website, and you see the comments counter up, and you get so excited, to go check, and you just realize that 95% of these comments are just spam?

This happened to me so many times, and get so annoying.

Here is why I think comment spam are bad:

1) Comment Spam Can Damage Your Reputation..

Think about it, if one of those Gambling, Sexy Comment Slip through, what do you think your readers will think about you and your blog?

2) Comment SPAM Can Affect Your SEO Ranking:

How much time, we have put into our blogs, to gain every inch of ranking, to have it all gone, because of comment spam. Search engines are becoming so sophisticated these days, and can detect something called link farms. Link Farms, are basically spammy comments with links pointing to certain sites.

And they are mostly ways to trick the search engine, to get more ranking. Since any link to any website, in the past used to be a good thing.

3) Comment Spam are a waste of time:

How much time, we have to go through our comments, and realize that they are just spams. Going through them, reading them, validating them, and deleting them, can be a time consuming process.

4) Comment SPAM can waste server resources:

Most of the SPAMMY commenters are automated bots that comes and visit your website, and generate comments automatically. Basically they are just taking server resources, from real users, and every comment they enter, it is using database space.. So if you have thousand comment spam, that you can see on your wordpress dashboard, those are just useless data, that it is taking space.
